The how to guide is the third produced by the association this year and follows the publication of its Fundamentals of a Travel Programme guide in January and part one of its Meetings and Events guide in February.

Designed by ITM’s GLOCAL working party – headed by Credit Suisse EMEA travel manager Ben Varey and Microsoft EMEA travel manager Julia Heesterman – the 31-page guide examines ways of consolidating global business travel spend.

The guide covers sections including identifying objectives and where to start, through to benchmarking, data gathering and assembling the business case.

ITM chairman Jamie Hindhaugh said: "We set out a plan to deliver valuable reports and resources to our members during 2011 and this guide is just one of these in a whole series. If you’re planning on consolidating your global business travel expenditure, the guide is an incredibly useful template created after interviews with some of the industry’s leading global operators."
