The Lloyds’ HR and communications conference brought together 180 of the banking group’s employees to review 2010 and examine the challenges for 2011.

However, the event also involved delegates working closely with students from St Mark’s Church of England Academy in Mitcham on team-building elements.

The aim was for Lloyds to take the opportunity to put into practice its big society, big bank strategy and encourage the students to perform to the best of their ability, while giving the delegates an educational and inspirational experience.

Olympic medallists Roger Black and Steve Backley reinforced the themes for the day, while lessons were devised and presented by Lloyds delegates in collaboration with the school’s head of art Paul Osborn and head of PE Lee Cholewa.

Lloyds Banking Group’s delegates took part in a staff conference in the afternoon during the event on 9 March and throughout the day sixth form students worked as part of the events team to tackle logistics.

DRP Group director of events Jane Jones said: "The whole event really was a fantastic success for Lloyds and the DRP team. Working under extremely tight time constraints in an environment which was quite out of the ordinary meant the whole team needed to pull together and they did so fantastically."
