The first meeting of the new APPG, which launched this year, is being held on the same day as the Sustainable Events Summit and members are set to attend the annual sustainability event at the Barbican.

APPG chairman Nick de Bois will speak on the closing panel of the Sustainable Events Summit, while other speakers include incoming MPI president Samme Allen and author of The Sustainable MBA, Giselle Weybracht.

These speakers join Wayne Hemingway MBE, Jack Morton Worldwide senior producer Emma Fitzgerald and the Barbican’s head of event management Lee Dobson.

The theme of the event is The roadmap towards a more sustainable events industry and delegates will be challenged to present not only the problems they face in making their events more responsible, but also the solutions which have worked for them and which could represent the best model for the industry to adopt.
