The three-day annual conferences, hosted by the Stroke Association, will be held at the Harrogate International Centre (HIC) between 2012 and 2014.

The UK Stroke Forum Conference will use the HIC’s new halls, expected to be completed by the end of 2011.

UK Stroke Forum coordinator Sally Atkinson said: "HIC provides the flexibility and space needed for our varied programme as well as our extensive exhibition area, which will be housed in the two new event halls. We are also delighted with their offer to host a networking event at the Sun Pavilion."

HIC sales and marketing head Alison Griffin said: "A three-day conference always has a substantial impact on the local economy – this could be worth £6.6m to the town and area. The conference is crucial for influencing healthcare policy and we look forward to welcoming them."
