Eastbourne Conference Bureau has won three new conferences over the next two years, which will bring more than 1,800 delegates into the town.

Southern Rail is set to hold a conference for 400 delegates on 27 July at the Devonshire Park Centre.

The conference bureau has also confirmed bookings with Creative Realisation for a 1,000-delegate conference on 24-26 October 2012 and Principle Promotions for a 400-delegate event on 12-14 March 2013.

Eastbourne Borough Council’s tourism development manager Annie Wills said: "We are extremely pleased to secure these new conferences for Eastbourne and continue to attract big names to use the Devonshire Park Centre for their events. With many events taking place outside of the main summer season, conference trade is integral to recognising Eastbourne as a year round destination."

The Royal British Legion’s women’s section is set to celebrate its 90th anniversary during an event for 1,200 people being held in Eastbourne on 5-8 May.

"We already have a packed calendar of conferences taking place in Eastbourne and these new bookings come as a further boost to the local economy," added Wills.
