Johnson & Johnson and BP among clients boosting Roselle Events

Roselle Events has appointed Paul Macari as its new commercial director to manage growth following a 58% boost in sales last year.

Scottish agency Roselle Events – which has offices in Edinburgh and Aberdeen – has hired Macari to take responsibility for its distribution and growth strategy.

Turnover and profit

The agency recorded a 58% increase in turnover to the end of August 2010 compared to the previous year, from £1,437,448 to £2,275,643.

Its profits have also increased from £331,784 to £549,332 in the same period.

Acquisition

The agency – which was called Elle Events but rebranded last year after acquiring Aberdeen-based agency Hamilton Rose – works with clients including Johnson & Johnson, BP and Shell UK.

Macari previously worked as regional account manager for Marriott International for two years, prior to which he was general manager for ticketing sales at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre, and in operations for Sodexo.

Meanwhile, Charlotte McIntosh has been promoted to head of operations, overseeing both Aberdeen and Edinburgh operations.

Pharmaceutical

Having previously held the position of senior events manager, McIntosh was recently involved in a pharmaceutical conference for 1,200 delegates in Barcelona in January.
 
Also joining Roselle Events is Rob Campbell, who has taken on the role of new media designer in the 11-strong agency.

His appointment marks the launch of a new in-house offering for the company, covering brand development, graphic design, web design and digital media production.
