The guide, entitled Inspiration – Only in London, has been created for the US and long haul business markets to showcase the range of incentive programmes on offer in the capital.

To coincide with the launch of the guide, Visit London has also released the results of its Ultimate London Incentive Survey, carried out in association with C&IT, on what global events planners and business visitors find most inspiring when booking a trip to London.

Activities based on or around the River Thames proved high on the agenda for corporate event planners, with activities including speed boat racing, luxury dinner cruises, London Duck Tours and even canoeing under Tower Bridge.

More than 61 per cent of respondents already have plans to stage events in the UK capital during 2011.

Visit London’s sales and marketing director for North America and emerging markets Chris FJ Lynn said: "With the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games just around the corner we’re aware that clients and events planners are searching far and wide for unique and totally one-off experiences which really deliver the wow factor to their event – hopefully this guide and our fantastic city will whet their appetites."
