Confex gets mixed reactions from exhibitors

Exhibitors at Confex, which kicked off on Tuesday and finishes today, have given mixed verdicts on the show's success.

The Netherlands Board of Tourism was also happy with the show. Michiel Steneker, interim project manager, said: "We made some impressive bookings, including three separate groups of 1,200 people at one venue on the same day. There were also several groups of 30-40 people for incentives."

First-time exhibitor Fonix LED targeted the show to launch its 4mm LED display, aimed at the meetings market. Its producer Colin Parnell said: "This show was quality, not quanitity for us. We came up from Poole, Dorset to showcase our new screen, and I think the quality of the leads has been good."

Less positive feedback came from Vista Events' senior account manager Rena Gkini. She said that the show was less busy than last year and the quality of the appointments was lower.

"We had one quite good day, but there was a lack of corporate clients, and a lot of people were selling to us, instead of the other way round," she added.
