The 2,000sqm Expansion Space, which was given full planning permission in February last year, is scheduled to open in spring 2013 and will almost double the space available at the venue.

However, the EICC sales and development team are planning to attract new business during Confex – which is being held at Earls Court from today (1 March) to Thursday.

EICC head of event design Karen Wood said: "Confex, this year, is perfectly timed for us to talk in detail with clients about what the expanded EICC has to offer. Equipped with a simulated tour of the exciting new facility we look forward to attracting new business at the show."

The new Expansion Space is adjacent to the existing EICC building careful planning has allowed the centre to remain open throughout the 126-week development project.
