The Pennine Lecture Theatre, at the university's city campus, will play host to the event, which occurs six months after the Liberal Democrats' conference at Sheffield City Hall, from 11-13 March.
Among the 500 delegates at this year's event, organised by Conference 21 and Sheffield Convention Bureau, will be the Green Party's first elected MP, Caroline Lucas.
Conference 21 commercial events manager Becky Stanyard said: "The Green Party were impressed by our city-centre location, Hosting an event such as this at such an important time for British politics is a real feather in the cap for the university and Conference 21."
Meanwhile, the Green Party is set to host its annual spring conference in Cardiff from tomorrow (25 February) until Monday.
The conference takes places at Cardiff’s Barcelo Hotel and Green Party leader Caroline Lucas said she was "delighted" with the location.
"The compactness of this vibrant city means that all its amenities and attractions are within walking distance of the conference venue," she said. "This is clearly a big plus and should make the experience, both in and around conference, an enjoyable one."
