Google to discuss hospitality technology at HSMAI conference

Google will join companies including Intelligent Hotels, Q Hotels and Trip Advisor at the Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI) London Conference, which takes place at the Hilton London Metropole on 7 February.

The Revenue Management & Internet Marketing Strategy Conference is held to debate the latest industry challenges, opportunities and trends in internet marketing and revenue management.

Google industry manager for travel Nate Bucholz will discuss how social networking and IT can help travel companies.

Other speakers include Guillaume Thevenot of Trip Advisor and STR Global director of account management Sarah Duignan, who will be giving her forecasts for the travel industry in 2011.

HSMAI Europe president and chief executive Ingunn Hofseth said: "The hospitality and travel industry is forever having to keep ahead of the curve as online marketing has become an essential means of driving revenue. Our distinguished speakers will be sharing their knowledge and predictions for the future of internet marketing and how hotels, restaurants, pubs and the travel industry can best apply these tools to optimise their business."

London Business School programme director Michael Nowlis added: "The hospitality and travel industry has experienced a tumultuous time of late, faced with changing regulations coupled with ever-increasing competiveness as online marketing plays an ever-more prominent role in driving revenues."
