The Southampton hotel’s general manager Patrick Cunningham has appointed Derek McNeill as hotel manager after previously working with him at Forte hotels in Fareham, Portsmouth and Southsea.

Sue Lyons has also been appointed as meetings and events manager. She has previously worked with McNeill at the Hilton in Southampton, where she was assistant food and beverages manager.

Cunningham said: "We wanted to restructure the management team as we look to build on our successes. I first worked with Derek in 1993 when he was my deputy general manager so we have known each other a long time.

"Derek has also worked with Sue so it is great to have all these working relationships already established because we know how we each operate and the strengths that we bring to our roles to keep taking this great hotel forward."
