The move is part of the group’s strategy to extend the Pan Pacific and Park Royal brands in Australia, as well as North America and Asia.
Currently owned by Mulpha Australia and managed by Hilton Hotels & Resorts, the Hilton Melbourne International Airport hotel has 276 rooms and 14 meeting rooms, the largest of which is 31sqm and can hold 300 delegates theatre-style.
Pan Pacific Hotels Group is assessing opportunities to rebrand the hotel as a Park Royal after the hotel management agreement with Hilton Hotels & Resorts ends next year.
The group returned to Australia earlier this year, after rebranding two Crowne Plaza hotels, Park Royal Darling Harbour, on Sydney, and Park Royal Parramatta.
Pan Pacific Perth will also open on 6 January.
