Coca-Cola’s head of sustainable Olympic Games Katherine Symonds joined event planners from RWE Npower, direct selling company Amway, and Canon Europe to discuss CSR in the meetings industry.

Organised by Ciria’s head of events Charles Perkin, who leads MPI’s CSR committee, the annual event was a chance for event planners to share best practice.

MPI UK and Ireland chair Fiona Pelham said: "Everyone was talking about how to make the business case for sustainability. We understand the business case, but how do we explain it to other people we are working with?"

The event, held at the Radisson Blu Portman on 10 December, is likely to be followed by educational events for MPI members in 2011.
