ACC Liverpool has announced a partnership with Virgin Trains to more than 60 existing and potential clients during an annual showcase at One Whitehall.

Virgin Train's group reservations team will work with ACC Liverpool clients to organise specific travel requirements for between 10 and 1,000 conference delegates.

Conference organisers using ACC can get discounted fares for delegates, the option to arrange an exclusive carriage, or to charter an entire train for up to 535 passengers.

At Liverpool’s Lime Street station, delegates can be welcomed with branded welcome posters, a meet and greet service as well as an onward travel service. Other on board branding and media can also be organised.

Virgin Trains communications manager Ken Gibson told C&IT: "The scheme is currently being trialled with the ACC, but if it goes well it is something we could roll out at other venues."

ACC Liverpool chief executive Bob Prattey said: "We took the initiative to partner with Virgin Trains as part of an ongoing drive to enhance delegates’ experience prior to visiting the venue. We wanted to streamline the process conference organisers undergo when booking events.

"With Liverpool’s excellent transport links we can assist in the important role that travel plays when attending conferences. With the introduction of this group travel department, we are sure the service will rein in potential clients and indeed inspire past clients to return."
