Excel London picked up the prize in the C&IT-sponsored category during the BT Visit London awards last night (8 December) at the Bloomsbury Big Top.
C&IT readers voted on business events including Peugeot's RCZ launch and BT Wholesale's Shine dinner by Adding Value, an M&S event by Timebased Events, and Smyle's Entrepreneurs Bootcamp 2009.
Smyle and Adding Value were also recognised in the business event of the year category, while Kings Place scooped the business venue of the year award.
Visit London’s chair Tamara Ingram recognised the "pretty turbulent year" for the industry during the awards but said the launch of the ICC London would make the capital a "centre for business again".
Alesha Dixon sang at the event after being handed the Sound of London award, while Mica Paris provided an impromptu performance with the London Community Gospel Choir. Twiggy was recognised with an outstanding achievement award.
