EIBTM was the setting for the launch of Verona & Lago di Garda Convention Bureau, with its president Diego Briani confirming corporate bookings.

The non profit-making consortium was set up to develop travel and events in the region and is planning a roadshow in which it visits countries to promote the destination.

"We have already had several large bookings for 2011 from UK corporates. The pharmaceutical market is particularly strong for us. Verona combines history and culture and offers a range of fun incentive trips. We have a conference capacity of 40,000 and 400 meeting rooms," said Briani.

Venues in the Verona include Veronafiere and the Chamber of Commerce, Aeroporto Valerio Catullo di Verona Spa, the Consorzio di Promozione Turistica Verona TuttIntorno and the Consorzio di Promozione Turistica Lago di Garda e.
