The Eden Project, based in St Austell, was hit by 'severe' flooding last Wednesday (November 17), causing damage to the ice rink, Link Building between the two Biomes, Visitor Centre and Core education centre.

Eden Project communications manager Angelina Lambourn told C&IT that several events and conferences have been cancelled, including Empowering Smart Women, which was due to happen on Wednesday, but will now take place today.

A short ceremony was held today to herald its reopening seven days after the closure. Chief executive Tim Smit joined members of the Eden team, some of whom worked to clear up the damage, estimated to cost millions of pounds for the centre.

The ice rink and Link Building remain closed.
