Speaking at Convention D'Affaires Languedoc-Roussillon, held at Chateau Comtal Carcassonne, Jullian told C&IT that the region holds many historical venues that could be adapted for events.

Jullian, who replaced Frederic Lopez, added: "Business tourism is a great way for us to avoid the seasonal tourism lull. This year business tourism is up by around 6% on January to September last year. Popular incentives in the region include vineyard wine tastings and historical tours."

The annual convention, which started today (19 November), included around 60 MICE buyers from mainland Europe including Office of Tourism Montpellier and Belgium's Discover.
