Altitude London, situated on the 29th floor of the Millbank Tower, is poised to double its event space later this month with the opening of Altitude 360 Black.
The new space will feature a black décor and black floor, in contrast to the minimalist white space of Altitude 360.
However, student protests at Millbank have reportedly caused broken windows and injury to a female police officer, putting the safety of construction work at the venue in doubt.
Altitude 360 marketing director Peter Kerwood has been Tweeting about the situation, assuring C&IT that staff are safe, but calling the situation 'messy'.
The venue has planned a hard hat tour on 15 November, ahead of its official opening on 24 November. C&IT is expecting further news about the viability of this date tomorrow morning (11 November).
The protest was organised as an opposition to Government plans to triple tuition fees and cut university teaching budgets by 40%.
