BEAU RIVAGE

The five-star Beau Rivage offers 174 rooms, with four restaurants and two bars. Highlights include a spa with a hammam and hydrotherapy facilities. There are two conference rooms available, one with capacity for 80 delegates and one for 14. Activities include water sports, a fitness centre and the use of three championship golf courses. Insurance company Towergate Partnership recently held an incentive at Beau Rivage for its staff and partners. "The different options for group dining meant the group never ate in the same restaurant twice," says Richard Williamson, event manager at organiser Jarvis Woodhouse Events. www.naiade.com

PARADIS HOTEL & GOLF CLUB

The Beachcomber-owned resort offers 285 rooms, and guests can take advantage of facilities at its sister hotel, the Dinarobin Hotel Golf & Spa. The hotel boasts the largest sports centre in Mauritius, with land and water activities and a spa with Clarins treatments. Its conference room can accommodate 180 people. "It's an amazing complex and the views were sensational," says Mike Lancaster, managing director of Osprey Events, which organised a corporate incentive at the hotel two years ago. www.paradis-hotel.com

LONG BEACH

Due to open in 2011 on the east coast of the island, Long Beach has 255 rooms, each with a view of the ocean. The spa has a hammam and 12 treatment rooms specialising in thalassotherapy. Catering for land and sea enthusiasts, activities include water sports, tennis and football and there are five restaurants to choose from. Delegates can also use the golf course at sister resort Le Touessrok. Conference facilities include a 110m2 function room for up to 80 people. www.longbeachmauritius.com

SHANTI MAURICE

Part of Nira Hotels and Resorts, the Shanti Maurice is on the south coast of Mauritius and offers facilities for groups from ten to 100, including two conference rooms. It has a 6,967m2 spa, one of the largest on the island, with 25 treatment rooms and there are 61 suites and villas at the property. There is a range of land and water sports available, including tennis, golf and cooking. Local activities can also be arranged for groups, such as zip lining and swimming with dolphins. www.shantimaurice.com

ANGSANA BALACLAVA

The Banyan Tree group is planning a new Angsana property in the north west of the island, due to open in spring 2011. The 50-suite boutique resort in Turtle Bay will offer relaxation pools or jet pools in most of its rooms, with a spa complete with a hammam and hydrotherapy pool. It's a 15-minute drive from the capital Port Louis, and is equipped with meeting facilities, an all-day restaurant, speciality beach grill, and bar lounge. www.angsana.com

LE TOUESSROK

Owned by Sun Resorts, Le Touessrok overlooks the Trou D'Eau Douce bay. There are two conference rooms capable of hosting up to 100 delegates each, a range of accommodation, and a Givenchy spa. Home shopping company Kleeneze recently held its annual conference here. "The hotel offered high levels of service, perfect meeting space for a theatre-style conference, landscaped common areas, and luxurious contemporary furnishings and fittings," says Mandy Brinkman, Kleeneze corporate events manager. www.letouessrokresort.com
