Based in Sydney, Australian-born Richard will be responsible for increasing business growth, building brand awareness and driving sales and marketing initiatives.

Pan Pacific is launching three hotels in Australia: Parkroyal Darling Harbour, Sydney, formerly Crowne Plaza Darling Harbour, and Parkroyal Parramatta, formerly Crowne Plaza Parramatta, will launch in November; Pan Pacific Perth, formerly Sheraton Perth, will launch in January 2011.

Rheinberger has worked in sales and marketing at companies including Mirvac Hotels & Resorts, InterContinental Hotels Group and Federal Hotels International Group. His last appointment was regional director of sales and marketing with Mirvac Hotels & Resorts.

"Richard joins the Pan Pacific Hotels Group team in Australia at a very exciting stage," said Pan Pacific Hotels group president and CEO A. Patrick Imbardelli.

"His well-rounded expertise and knowledge of this key growth market will be important for us as we entrench our Pan Pacific and Parkroyal in the hearts and minds of our guests, customers, business partners and local communities."

Pan Pacific recently lost its Bangkok hotel contract.
