Handley joined the team on Monday (20 September) and will be working closely with deputy heads of events Glen Morrissey and Emma Nielsen.

Morrissey and Nielsen were promoted to the roles after Richard Parker left to join Zibrant, and Amanda Hall moved to Barclays’ corporate team.

Wright announced her departure from Barclays after five and a half years in July, before leaving last month to explore other opportunities.

Handley already has a strong track record at Barclays, having worked as head of events, Europe, for Barclays Global Investors (BGI) for more than 13 years until her departure in January.

A stint at the Winter Olympics 2010 in Vancouver for Jet Set Sports followed Handley’s role at BGI.

Prior to her role at BGI, she had worked at Deutsche Bank and Goldman Sachs.
