Taking place at the Royal Horticultural Halls on 16 November, Discover Newcastle Gateshead will enable meeting planners to find out more about some 25 venues such as Seaham Hall Hotel, Rockliffe Hall and De Vere Slaley Hall.

Guests will also learn about new hotel developments such as a 200-room Jurys Inn planned for Gateshead Quays in September 2011 and Hotel Indigo Newcastle, opening in early 2012.

Guests will have the chance to discover more about the plans to build an international conference and exhibition centre as part of the development of a major site on Gateshead Quays, immediately adjacent to The Sage Gateshead.

Newcastle Gateshead Convention Bureau head of business tourism Jessica Roberts said: "We have recently launched a campaign called Space to Think, which encourages meeting planners to consider North East England’s stunning rural venues for their events so it’ll be a great opportunity to spread the word to London-based meeting planners."

Tickets for the Discover Newcastle Gateshead showcase will shortly be available via www.DiscoverNewcastleGateshead.com
