Overview: Thompson Sport enlisted the help of Mango Event Management to organise a fundraising auction night for new partner, Sport Relief. Mango’s challenge was to raise awareness of Thomson Sport and its partnership with Sport Relief by managing a memorable event ensuring great guest experience, with minimal expenditure.
Execution: IndigO2 was the chosen venue for the Thomson Sport Relief Ball in March 2010 because of its in-house staging, its balcony seating for show-only guests, transportation links and renowned status as an iconic London venue. Mango organized a champagne reception, 3 course dinner, MC and auctioneer, and live performances from Diversity, Sugababes and ABC. Live accounting of auction by the Mango team provided updates to the Auctioneer for guest notification, resulting in push for additional fundraising to reach target
The event resulted in over £100,000 being raised on the night with all proceeds going to Sport Relief, exceeding initial projections of £75,000. Event specific PR/media coverage achieved successful results with BBC coverage on the night of Ball and 6 articles about the ball were featured in the Evening Standard, Tatler Party Pages, OK!
Impact on London Using IndigO2 was a perfect way to showcase a top London Olympic venue and its extensive in-house production facilities, which were key to the overall success of the event. The experienced venue event management team understood the event objectives and assisted in providing support to ensure smooth running of the event.
