Baring joins the agency in a business development executive role from media recruitment consultancy Lipton Fleming, increasing AOK Events’ team to eight.

AOK Events managing director Alex Hewitt said the agency is expected to grow by 15-20% this year and recruit a further one or two staff by the end of 2010.

The agency is currently preparing its annual financial report for the period June 2009 to May 2010 and Hewitt added that while revenue had fallen, it had still been profitable.

"Last year’s accounts saw a reduction in profit, but a profit nonetheless," he said.

"We expect to grow by 15-20% this year; the hospitality industry is enormous so I would be very surprised if there wasn’t an increase across the industry."

In June, the agency reported that Wimbledon corporate sales were up more than 50% on last year after it launched a dedicated website - www.wimbledonhospitality.com - to target business for the Wimbledon tennis championships in 2010.
