Sophie Stewart has been appointed to run all the events at the venues which make up the Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums.

These include:

  • The Great North Museum
  • Discovery Museum
  • Laing Art Gallery
  • Segedunum Roman Fort, Baths & Museum
  • Arbeia Roman Fort

Stewart has worked at venues in the region including the Radisson Blu and The Three Tuns hotels in Durham, Otterburn Hall and The George in Chollerford.

"This is a really exciting opportunity for me," she said. "To be able to look after a whole range of very different but extremely unusual and challenging venues is fantastic and I’m really looking forward to it."

Sodexo Prestige won the £5m contract to provide a range of services including event, conference, banqueting and visitor catering services as well as event sales and marketing services for Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums earlier this year.
