The first project will be a 200-room hotel to be built at the Doha Education City.

Dohaland Hospitality chief executive Abdul Aziz Al-Emadi said: "We believe there is a current need in the market for quality budget hotels in Doha."

Premier Inn already operates three hotels in the United Arab Emirates, with two more underway, and opened its first hotel in India last year.

Darroch Crawford, managing director of Premier Inn in the Middle East said: "We are delighted with the signing of this partnership and are looking forward to bringing the Premier Inn brand to Qatar. We have three hotels already open in Dubai and two more under development in Abu Dhabi. This partnership lends further weight to our commitment to the region and our intention to be the largest and best provider of value for money hotels in the region."

Dohaland Hospitality recently appointed Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group to operate and manage a new luxury city centre hotel and serviced apartments to be built by 2014 as part of the Musheireb - Heart of Doha development.
