Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre (AECC) has appointed Ria Sleigh and Jen Martin to support an increased sales drive.

Sleigh has taken on the role of senior sales executive (association), and will be responsible for attracting new national and international association conferences to AECC.

She was formerly a communcations officer at Aberdeen City Council and marketing manager at Petrofac.

Martin, who has been appointed as sales executive, previously worked as a projects administrator for Sureclean and a customer service representative at Regus. She will be dealing with AECC’s local corporate sales and also project managing the bookings for AECC’s 25th birthday celebrations in September and Bring Your Party to Our Party events in December.

AECC managing director Brian Horsburgh said: "It is a pleasure to welcome Ria and Jen to the team and I am sure they will both be great additions to the sales department. Their fresh perspective will allow the team to continue to grow the local corporate and association conference market."

In addition, Anna Mackenzie has been promoted to acting head of sales while Louise Lonie, head of sales and marketing, is on maternity leave. Victoria Withy-Drysdale, who first joined AECC in 2003, and has had a consultant role for the past three years has taken on the role of PR and marketing manager in addition to her current role as head of professional conference organisation (PCO) on a part time basis in Louise’s absence.
