C&IT asked some of the UK’s top corporate and agency event buyers which of the Premier League club grounds (2009-10 season) – not forgetting Wembley and Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium – they have used for events, which are their favourites and why.

Last season’s Premier League champions, Chelsea topped the league as the most popular football stadium for events and hospitality. The club, which has hosted events for corporate clients including IBM, Pfizer and Pricewaterhousecoopers, was praised for its location, good service and the size of the venue.

Arsenal’s new home, Emirates Stadium, came a close second, followed by Manchester United’s Old Trafford, the new Wembley Stadium and Aston Villa’s home ground Villa Park.

C&IT surveyed over 50 event planners to create a league of the top ten football stadia for events in the UK. The top ten as voted for by readers were:

  1. Stamford Bridge
  2. Emirates Stadium
  3. Old Trafford
  4. Wembley Stadium
  5. Villa Park
  6. Millennium Stadium
  7. Goodison Park
  8. Stadium of Light
  9. White Hart Lane
  10. City of Manchester Stadium
