Kenyon previously worked for Reed Travel Exhibitions (RTE) in Dubai for five years, and was most recently project manager for Dubai World Trade Centre’s events and exhibitions department.

He said: "GIBTM is firmly established within the Gulf and is in an excellent position to drive and shape an expanding sector from both a regional and international exhibitors’ perspective, whilst attracting even more regional trade visitors."

RTE meetings and events portfolio group exhibition director Craig Moyes said: "I am delighted that Lloyd is returning to the RTE fold at such an important time for the development and expansion of GIBTM. Having worked in the UAE for over ten years his knowledge of the region and of the industry will prove invaluable."

The next GIBTM is set to take place on 28-30 March 2011 in Abu Dhabi.
