Harpa, Reykjavik's new 28,000 sq m concert hall and conference centre, features four separate halls and is located on the harbour between the city centre and the North Atlantic Ocean.

It was to open in December 2009 but was delayed due to Iceland's financial crisis.

Henning Larsen Architects designed the building, which aims to allow for a mix of large conferences and conventions, receptions and exhibitions.

The main concert hall can accommodate 1,800 people, while a spacious entrance hall on the first and second floors is being earmarked for banquets, receptions and exhibitions. There are two meeting rooms on the first level, as well as a series of smaller meeting rooms.

Facilities also include:

  • Viewing balcony
  • Underground parking
  • Boutiques
  • Bar and restaurant
