The London venue reported turnover of £11.2m, down on the previous year’s turnover of £11.5m.

It hosted 379 events in the year ended March 2010, compared to 384 the previous year.

QEIICC chief executive Ernest Vincent said: The centre's performance in 2009/2010 is significantly stronger than predicted, following a surge in late bookings, a high percentage of repeat business and the centre’s hosting of the Iraq Inquiry. The record figures posted by the centre in 2008/2009, coupled with the economic downturn have made a year-on-year increase impossible.

The conference centre also reported an occupancy percentage of 65.3% against a target of 60%.
