Visit England chief executive James Berresford said he was delighted that Hunt had identified the importance of boosting domestic tourism as a key objective for the new government.
Visit England's tourism strategy, which was launched this year and aims to boost grow England's £97bn UK visitor market by 5% over the next decade, will play an important role in enhancing business tourism.
"Our new Strategic Framework for Tourism will help drive up quality, improve England marketing domestically and internationally, create compelling destinations, maximise opportunities created by the Olympics, and win back the lucrative business market," said Berresford.
He added: "We look forward to working with the Secretary of State and Tourism Minister John Penrose to make the sector more effective so the industry can reach its full potential and maintain England's position as one of the world's most exciting and desirable destinations. I echo the Secretary of State when he says we cannot take our success for granted - we must not stand still in this competitive global market."
