The commercial venues have been placed on the list for the next two years, and will be able to compete for around £400,000 of business each year.
Art gallery and conference centre The Public's managing director Linda Saunders said: "We're absolutely delighted to be placed on such an esteemed list. This contact is recognition of the superb facilities, high quality service and excellent value for money The Public offers, and we look forward to forming a long standing relationship with the council and its delegates."
Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council's senior purchasing officer Andy Jukes told C&IT there would be the option to renew the contract for a further two years after 2012.
"Where possible, the council encourages people to use our own venues, but if they need to go for a larger event they will look at the 12 commercial venues," explained Jukes.
The venues appointed are:
- Bethel Convention Centre
- Carters Green Business Centre
- Confederation of British Metalforming Centre
- Great Barr Hotel
- Park Inn
- Plyvine Catering
- Salvation Army
- The Public
- Village Hotel (in Dudley and Walsall)
