Fleming joins from the Ricoh Arena but was previously sales manager at the International Centre in Telford, which is part of the Southwater Event Group along with the International Hotel, the Holiday Inn, Grays Hotel and events production company Stagecraft UK.

He said: "My primary aim is to focus on the already highly successful businesses we have in the group, and develop them still further. It's an exciting time to be part of this company as we're on the threshold of multi-million pound plans to create a dynamic convention quarter with the International Centre at its heart."

Southwater Event Group chief executive Tom Gray said: "Dominic's experience in the industry will prove invaluable in helping us to promote our services to the widest possible audience, and his appointment is a real boost for our growing sales team."

In addition, two new sales staff have joined the group. Justin Dilks will focus on sales for The International Centre, targeting conference and events organisers, and has worked in the industry for 14 years. Sarah Tennant will be concentrating on hotel booking sales.
