, 13 December 2007
BT has won the naming rights for ACC Liverpool’s conference centre, signing a five-year sponsorship deal from when the venue opens next month. ACC claims the BT Convention Centre will be the first purpose-built facility of its kind in the UK to have secured a naming rights deal. The convention centre will have 1,350 seats plus 7,000sq m of exhibition space and will host its first event at the end of February, with completion of the final fitting out of all sections in April. As well as sponsoring the centre, BT says it is will be bringing “a series of high-profile events” to the facility. “We are delighted to further our relationship with Liverpool through the BT Convention Centre,” said Rob McVicker, BT’s chief operating officer for the project. “We will also be providing great technology, such as wi-fi connectivity and a wireless telephone system.” Convention centre general manager Jacquie Rogers added: “We are delighted that BT is coming on board. It is an internationally-renowned brand and this deal will deliver real value to both parties in terms of new business opportunities and national and international profile.”
