Chief executive, Principal Hayley
Troy makes this year's Power 50 list not least for the high-profile acquisition of the eight-strong Hayley Conference Centres property collection for £358m back in May last year as head of Principal Hotels. At the time of the acquisition, Troy declared his stated aim was to keep the two brands on as separate but complementary entities, and the judging panel backed the nominations he received, highlighting his success in "running two distinct animals in the same race".
