ISES UK has appointed a team of advisors to help it achieve its key goals over next three years.

 

England 2018 World Cup bid team member David Hornby and George P Johnson EMEA vice president and managing director Kim Myhre are on the team, who will advise on strategy, marketing and communications among other issues.

ISES UK president Zanine Adams said the team would help the organisation to achieve its key objectives such as growing member networking events and educational development over the next three years.

Adams said: "This is a highly talented and respected line up of industry figures with an enormous amount of experience, skill and contacts. Their time and advice will benefit the membership and the entire association and help us to achieve our plans over the next three years."

Hornby and Myhre will look at development and opportunities, and Joe Goldblatt will advise on education, Adams said, while Davies Tanner managing director Robert Wright will work with ISES on communications and marketing.

The advisors will commence their roles on 1 August as the new ISES board also begin their duties.

ISES UK advisors:

-         Joe Goldblatt: Professor and executive director at the International Centre for the Study of Planned Events at Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh

-        David Hornby: Former commercial director at Visit London and now events industry consultant and part of the England 2018 World Cup bid team

-        Kim Myhre: Vice president and managing director EMEA at global experiential marketing agency George P Johnson

-        Robert Wright: Former ISES UK president and managing director of event and business tourism public relations agency Davies Tanner

ISES (International Special Events Society)

-    ISES has 300 members in the UK
-    Represents more than 5,500 members in 45 chapters throughout the world
-    Membership includes professionals from special events sectors/markets including venues, caterers, meeting planners, decorators, event planners, audio-visual suppliers, party and convention coordinators, educators, journalists, hotel and venue managers
