Severe UK weather forces postponement of corporate events

Ford Retail and Wagamama are among the companies whose events have been disrupted by the UK's heaviest snowfall in 18 years.

Quantum Event Management managing director Steve Tilbrook said a Ford Retail event for 180 delegates from Yorkshire and Humberside had been rescheduled from today to next week due to the severe weather.

"Ironically, the event is being held at Xscape - a ski slope in Castleford," he said.

Ci Events national sales manager (UK and Europe) Cate McDonald said an event at the Ministry of Sound for 1,500 Wagamama staff from throughout the UK was also postponed yesterday.

Prior to the event, the agency warned Wagamama that the weather was forecast to worsen, which would disrupt travel arrangements for guests.

"We liaised with all the suppliers and were able to postpone the event to next Monday with minimal postponement fees to the client," said McDonald. "The client was delighted with the outcome and incredibly pleased that Ci Events made the process so seamless and stress-free."

I hope they boiught event insurance. This would have paid the cost of relocation/retiming etc.
