Welcome to C&IT's first-ever Hot List. We asked you to vote quite simply for your favourites - from venues to destinations to suppliers - across 12 categories. The winners aren't the most booked, or the ones with the best deals, they are quite simply the very best in class - the finest hotels to impress incentive trippers, the best conference venues for clients, and the destinations that do more than tick a box. And aided and abetted by the promise of a very special prize, you voted in your hundreds to commend gold status to 12 very special places and suppliers.
 And it points to some interesting trends across the industry. In the destination stakes, you are a bunch of city slickers with urban hotspots dominating both the conference and incentive favourites. And while Europe delivers your best conference solutions, it was surprisingly a mid- to long-haul affair for incentives in 2009.
