The former Belfry House Hotel has reopened as the Hallmark Hotel Manchester following a £5m refurbishment.

The 88-room property is the first acquisition by the Hallmark Hotels Group.

Its rooms have been made over with "luxurious soft furnishings" and dark wood features.

A new Brasserie has opened in the hotel and serves dishes made from local produce.

Hallmark Hotels managing director Arnold Schnegg said: "When we set out to renovate the Belfry, it was important that we created a space that would give us a contemporary, boutique feel while maintaining a friendly atmosphere
