Legislation will force corporate catch-up on CSR

CSR is gaining importance in events but client event planners still lag behind suppliers, according to MCI group sustainability director Guy Bigwood.

"Unfortunately, some of the associations and corporates haven't kept up with us (agencies, destinations and suppliers)," Bigwood told today's C&IT Strategic Events Annual Conference.

He maintained that sustainability was gaining momentum, however, adding that as governments set binding environmental targets for which non-compliance incurred fines, "it will have a major influence on corporates".
