Grass Roots Group has reported a 20% rise in turnover to £284.3m and 31% hike in gross profit to £66.8m and a 24% climb in pre-tax profit to £10.3m, for the year to June 2008.

In the chairman's statement, David Evans outlined what he saw key to the company's success: "Consistency in your code of practice, encouragement in experimentation, support and respect for the most important assets you have, human beings".

Evans also flagged up globalisation in a year when Grass Roots Group opened offices in India, China and Australia, stating that the international expansion strategy is based on the ability to "act local".

The results also revealed cash at bank figures amounting to £52m.
