The website launched in New York on Monday night (21 September) at Stage 48 in Hell's Kitchen with the help of ISES’ New York chapter. Its launch will allow event planners, suppliers and venue operators in New York to share experiences on the peer review site.
The launch event had a social media theme and ISES members shared their online experiences and discussed how social media is an important part of their marketing efforts.
Eventopedia co-founder Toby Heelis said: "Our combination of digital and online tools are appealing to destinations, individual venues, and corporate event planners alike. We increase visibility, transparency and enhance channels of communication. The synergy between London and New York, coupled with America’s appetite for innovation, made New York an obvious choice as one of our early stage destination launches."
Eventopedia backer and and experience director at Terrapinn, Sarah Holmes, added: "New York is a key destination for many event planners on both sides of the pond. To read venue reviews from event planners and watch virtual site inspections in destinations where I can’t simply jump into a taxi to see the venue is a very powerful and useful tool."
