Last night (17 September), ACC Liverpool launched Exhibition Centre Liverpool, an 8,100sqm building on the city’s international waterfront. More than 700 industry professionals, suppliers, partners and the Mayor of Liverpool gathered to celebrate the opening. Guests were entertained by gymnasts and dancers, before Actor and DJ Craig Charles rode in on a lorry to ramp up the music. A carousel and a miniature train were around for those feeling adventurous, and attendees also enjoyed a range of food and drink from stations around the venue, including a burrito bar, a curry stop, and a champagne and seafood bar.

On Tuesday (15 September), corporate groups were among 750 guests gathered for a gala dinner at London Hilton on Park Lane, organised by events agency Paragon, as part of the build-up to the Rugby World Cup. Guests enjoyed a Champagne reception and three-course meal where they were able to rub shoulders with rugby legends including Lawrence Dallaglio, Matt Dawson, Jason Leonard, Lewis Moody, Martin Bayfield. Entertainment included a stand-up set from comedian Al Murray and a Q&A session with a panel of legends from England's 2003 World Cup-winning team. A grand auction and prize raffle raised thousands of pounds funds for Beating Bowel Cancer, The Dallaglio Foundation, Jason Leonard’s Atlas Foundation and The Lewis Moody Foundation.

On Wednesday (17 September), Kensington Palace welcomed guests to a drinks reception to showcase its versatile outdoor space. The gardens of Kensington Palace provided the setting for the cocktail reception with luxury marquee tents from Raj Tent Club sheltering guests from the weather.

Guests enjoyed innovative catering courtesy of Bubble Food, with highlights including smokehouse salmon and umami bomb canapés; smoked chawn mushi and truffled ricotta bowl food; while the food stations included a steam punk station offering a new take on a ‘pie and a pint’ and a terrarium dessert station featuring a green tea and pistachio parfait and rose petal and raspberry éclair.

To continue the chic cocktail reception theme throughout, hanging globe terrariums were provided by Hayford & Rhodes for Bubble to fill with canapés, while additional features included storm lanterns leading up to the Orangery. A jazz band supplied by Young Guns provided the musical backdrop to the evening, while a performance from LED ballet dancers kept guests suitably entertained. Production and installation on the night was carried out by S2 Events.
