Lisbon: hotel highlights

An airport hotel and several boutique properties are among new openings this year in the Portuguese capital.

Tryp Leiria: The four-star hotel, part of the Hoti Hoteis group, opened in June in a residential area of the city and offers 70 rooms over two floors, a bistro restaurant, lounge bar, terrace and three meeting rooms with capacity for 200 people. Hoti Hoteis is also opening a further hotel at Lisbon Airport. The three-star property, housed in Building 125 at the airport, will have 160 rooms and will be located next to Tryp Lisbon Airport, which opened last year.

Pousada de Lisboa - Praca do Comercio: Part of the Pestana Hotel Group, Pousada de Lisboa, close to the River Tagus on the edge of Praca do Comercio square, has 90 rooms offering views over the river and the Sao Jorge castle. Facilities include an indoor swimming pool, spa and fitness centre and two meeting spaces, catering for 154 and 143 guests.

Behotelisboa: The four-star hotel, located in Lisboa’s downtown Baixa district in a renovated historic building, opens this month. It has 39 rooms spread over five floors, as well as a business centre.
