Located in the heart of the city, The Shankly Hotel is part of Liverpool hotel group Signature Living, which includes the Signature Hotel and 30 James Street properties in its portfolio.

'A tribute to one of football's greatest managers', the hotel will display previously unseen Bill Shankly memorabilia, part of the family's private collection, throughout reception and the 150-seat Bastion Bar & Restaurant. Each part of the restaurant, which serves locally sourced fare, celebrates a different era in the iconic manager's life

Eden, the hotel's conference and events centre, will open in spring 2016 as part of the second phase of development, and will be able to host up to 350 delegates. The venue can be split into meeting rooms of different sizes, suitable for a range of events.

The second stage of development will also see the hotel add a rooftop bar and restaurant, infinity swimming pool and a 100ft slide.

The 83 luxurious bedrooms at Liverpool's first football-themed hotel will each offer double Jacuzzi baths, free wi-fi and an Xbox console.

Christopher Carline, Bill Shankly’s grandson and director of the Shankly Hotel, said: "The hotel opening will be an incredibly proud moment for myself and the rest of the family. Unique, unseen pieces of memorabilia from my grandfather’s time as Liverpool FC manager will be on display for the first time. I think we will create an unforgettable experience for guests."

Lawrence Kenwright, co-founder of Signature Living, said: "The Shankly Hotel is the first accommodation of its kind in Liverpool, a city synonymous with football. Given the popularity of the reds legend with football fans the world over, it has the potential to become an international tourist attraction in its own right."
