The property was put up for sale by owner and property developer Tony Criss this April, with a reported asking price of £11m.
The 110-room hotel, which features exclusive Beatles artwork, photographs and specialist suites, has three meeting rooms, which can host up to 150 delegates.
Kwek Leng Beng, chairman of Millennium & Copthorne’s board of directors, said: "This unique acquisition, which will be supported by M&C’s existing management infrastructure, further expands the group’s hotel portfolio to one of the leading leisure and business destinations in the UK. The city is undergoing an economic regeneration and we are proud to be a part of that."
