Algarve hotel achieves environmental recognition

Memmo Baleeira hotel, located on the Algarve, has gained an environmental certificate from Earthcheck, one of the largest certifiers in the sector of travel and sustainable tourism.

EarthCheck operates a rigorous benchmarking programme, measuring key indicators such as energy and water consumption, total waste production and community engagement to provide a sustainable image of the operating performance of hotels. 

The 144-room Memmo Baleeira has a meeting space catering for up to 140 for receptions, 120 theatre-style and 122 for banquests. Another hotel in the group, the Memmo Alfama in Lisbon, also achieved the certificate.
